The painter follows in this painting popular genre models of the last third of the nineteenth century. Pereda began his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts, under the direction of Professor Amadeo Ruiz Del Olmo, even giving him private lessons. Afterwards, self-taught, he worked mainly in costumbrista themes, reaching a mastery of perfection and realism.
