Commander of infantry and amateur painter, Emilio Millán participated frequently in the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts, almost always presenting works of military or costumbrista subject, although he also approached the genre of the landscape. Likewise, in 1901 he took part in the Provincial Exhibition of Malaga with several still life paintings. He was a disciple of Serafín Martínez del Rincón, and worked mainly in the city of Granada, whose picturesque corners he portrayed on countless occasions. He is currently represented in the Museum of San Isidro in Madrid.
