The "vedute" or urban views had their golden age in the Venice of the XVIII century, initiating a school of vedutisti captained by Canaletto, the reinventor of the genre with deceptively precise and realistic scenographies. The scene we present here recovers that baroque genre, also using a palette of light tones and a drawing of meticulous lines that reproduce with almost photographic precision the architecture of the Palazzo Ducale. In the foreground, a fishing boat docks next to a gondola and characters from different social classes transport us to the Venetian principality of the time.
