Undoubtedly, it was in the painting of the Dutch school where the consequences of the political emancipation of the region, as well as of the economic prosperity of the liberal bourgeoisie were manifested more openly. Several humble characters are situated around a table conversing among themselves, as it is possible to deduce from the gestures, and accompanied by a series of elements, whose qualities the artist has taken care to capture in a truthful and naturalistic way, as is usual in the school since the Gothic works and the introduction of oil as a binder with the so-called Flemish.
