A character with aspect of vagabond holds with his left hand a tray full of donuts while with the right hand he is eating them with tremendous gluttony, as we deduce by the infantile gesture that he adopts sucking with fruition the index finger. The painter seems to be inspired by the Spanish painting of the Velázquez tradition centered on the representation of rogues and beggars. Also the treatment of the light, constrasted and expressive, is inspired by baroque models. The young man's stern and angular features are chiseled by a cold light, in contrast with the rigorous black of his attire that blends with the background.
