English school of the XIX century.

In this work we see that the painter places two male figures in the center of the composition, it is a gentleman with his son, of the English environment of the nineteenth century. The figures are vividly illuminated by a homogeneous and unitary light, which softly models their features with great naturalism, on a flat background worked in neutral tones. The oval format is striking, as well as the landscape that opens in the background, with an excellent level of detail and precision. The characteristics of later 18th century English portraits are an air of dignity and distinction, a rich quality of painting and a feeling of style that elevates them above purely descriptive painting.
