Devotional painting with the theme of the "Salvator Mundi", an iconography that represents the Christological concept of Jesus Christ as universal savior, in relation to his role as judge in the Final Judgment and his character of Redeemer. Although the framing does not show the hands (which in this typology are blessing), the frontal posture reflects the traditional hieratism of the theme of Byzantine heritage, although softened by the sweetness granted by the tonal richness.
