Devotional painting of baroque epoch, with representation of a saint with her arms crossed on the chest and escaping her glance towards the sky. It is shown, thus, with a deep rapture before the heavenly revelation. This is a moment (that of the ecstasy of the devotee) frequently represented in baroque painting, which gives pathos a predominant place. However, the young woman's features are preserved here serene and harmonious. The fleshy red lips, half-opened in surprise, give great sensuality to the face, boldly modeled by the light. The blue of the iris shimmers under the arch of the eyebrows. The red tunic is folded in naturalistic draperies, as is the veil, to which satin qualities are given, absorbing the soft hallmarks of light. Because of these characteristics, the iconography of this work can be related to the Assumption.
