Devotional scene in which a saint holds the Child Jesus in his arms, who tenderly directs his gaze towards the protagonist and his right hand towards his face. The image is developed in an architecture of evident classical heritage that opens to the outside through a window located on the right side of the image. The composition is bathed by a whitish light that starts from a break of glory with cherub heads. The scene is completed by two little angels, in the lower zone, carrying attributes. The style of the work follows in a certain way models inherited from the baroque period, as can be seen in the representation of the large curtain located in the left zone. However, the tones used by the author, in particular the pink and blue tones that can be seen in the landscape, contextualize the work in the eighteenth century.
The dimensions, subject and workmanship of this work indicate that it is a private piece, probably ascribed to a popular or provincial character. This type of work was in great demand and a mainly religious painting was developed, aimed at Christianizing the faithful. The local painters had as a model works of recognized authors, which they followed literally in terms of aesthetic types and iconography.
