Due to the technical characteristics, such as the modelling of the forms, the tonalities used, the type of composition, and even the aesthetic details used in the treatment of the canvases that make up the scene, this work can be inscribed within the mannerist school. The composition, which follows a classical pattern, has been conceived in a classical manner with the main characters arranged in such a way that their bodies form a triangle, so that the composition is balanced. This makes it easy to read the subject matter depicted. The treatment of colour should be highlighted, with a palette of bright, saturated colours that gives the work expressiveness, thus harmonising with the dramatic theme represented.
This work takes up the biblical account of the New Testament (Matthew 14:29-33) "Jesus said to him, 'Come! Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water and went to where Jesus was. But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid and began to sink, and cried out, "Lord, save me! Jesus immediately took him by the hand and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt? And when they got into the boat, the wind died down. And those in the boat began to worship him, and said to him, "You are truly the Son of God.
