Cristina Iglesias's creations have a lot to do with architecture, especially with physical space as a transcript of psychic places, and these themes will recur in her graphic work as well as in her sculptures and installations. The series to which the present work belongs, "Habitaciones" (Rooms), shows a creation in which, mainly by means of lights and shadows and on a somewhat particular support for this expressive medium, she deals with the most important themes for her, common throughout her artistic career with a series of works that present a great number of similarities among them, but are, at the same time, different from each other.

Cristina Iglesias' spatial evocations were deceptively simple, the result of a long process of elaborating photographed models and sculptural scenarios. She often started from wooden or cardboard boxes that she combined to form an urban landscape made of waste. He then photographed and enlarged the images, enhancing their element of distortion. Finally, the image, when silkscreened on a luminous support, loses its photographic trace and becomes an uncertain architecture.

Cristina Iglesias studied Chemistry at university in her hometown and, after a period in Barcelona immersed in the practice of ceramics and drawing, she studied Sculpture at the Chelsea School of Art in London, extending her studies thanks to a Fullbright scholarship at the Pratt Institute. She has combined her teaching career (Professor of Sculpture at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich in Germany) with her artistic career, which has received a large number of international awards (National Visual Arts Award in Spain in 1999, in 2012 the Grosse Kunstpreis Berlin...). Her work has been shown at the Venice Biennial, the Biennial of Sydney and TAipei, in Santa Fe, Seville, Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico, Bordeaux, Dublin, London, etc..., in addition to exhibitions at institutions such as the Carnegie Institute Museum of Art in Pittsburgh (USA), the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the "La Caixa" Foundation in Barcelona, the Henry Moore Foundation in Leeds, the Cervantes Institute in Rome, the Museum of History in Luxembourg, the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo and the Tate Modern in London, among others. His works are held in a large number of important private collections around the world, as well as in renowned institutions (the ARTIUM in Vitoria, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Nîmes, the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, the "La Caixa" Foundation in Barcelona, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the "La Caixa" Foundation in Barcelona, and the "Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York). Guggenheim Museum in New York, the IMMA in Dublin, the MoMA in New York, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the MNCARS in Madrid, the Tate Gallery in London, the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven...).
