Jordi Teixidor is one of the most prestigious Spanish abstract artists. Teixidor's early collaboration during the sixties with the Cuenca Group (Zóbel, Rueda, Torner) in the founding of the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art, set the pictorial tone for a committed art that Teixidor would follow for more than thirty years. In 1979 he received a grant from the Juan March Foundation that allowed him to live in New York for several years. There he got to know in depth the painting of the abstract expressionists of the New York School. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe and the United States including museums such as the IVAM in Valencia, where a major retrospective was held in 1997, the Santa Monica Center in Barcelona and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
