Rolling ruler (graduated ruler containing an inner cylinder mounted on a longitudinal axis, which allows it to roll without changing orientation on a sheet of paper or other surface where it is being used) made by the company founded by William Henry Harling in 1851. This company specialized in the manufacture of drawing instruments, with a factory at Grosvenor Works, Hackney, London EC.
