Two cases of technical drawing instruments and compasses made of steel and brass, with bone details. The cases, made of wood, are upholstered with imitation leather in different shades. One of them folds out with flaps. The interiors are lined with velvet. They include compasses of various types, adapters, nibs, drawing pencils and two protractors. One of them is printed with the famous German Richter brand. The boxes preserve the totality of their pieces, in functional state. Cases with wear and tear typical of use and of the period. The damage does not affect the condition of the instruments.
E. O. Richter (also known as E. O. Richter & Co.) was a German company dedicated to the manufacture of technical drawing utensils. Founded in 1875 by Emil Oskar Richter (1841-1905) in the Saxon city of Chemnitz, it became the largest manufacturer of compasses in the world during the first half of the 20th century.
