Francis Montesinos, originally from the neighborhood of El Carmen in Valencia, began his career in design in 1969 studying interior design, design and fashion. In 1972 he opened his own store and began to create successful fashion collections. In the 1980s, he established himself as one of Spain's most avant-garde designers, standing out for reinterpreting Spanish roots in his collections and taking Spanish fashion to the international arena.

He moved to Madrid, where he interacted with the Madrid Movida generation and designed for brands such as Coca-Cola and Gene Simmons of Kiss. He also ventured into costume design for film and the performing arts, excelling in productions such as Swan Lake and Pedro Almodovar's Matador.

His awards include the Aguja de Oro (1985), the IMPIVA Award (1986), and the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts (2006), among others. In 2017, he was named ambassador of Asturian cider.
