DESCRIPTION
Pair of Louis XVI style candlesticks. France, ca. 1870.
Very finely chiseled and gilded bronze. White marble base.
Measurements: 24 x 12 x 12 cm.
This pair of Louis XVI style candelabra rises on a white marble base on which rests a circular templet raised on a central helical foot and lateral feet in the form of scrolls. Two of these feet in the form of scrolls culminate in classical cup-shaped lighters. The small temple, from which fine chains fall, ends with a pine cone. The piece is completed with a rich ornamentation of acanthus leaves, pearl garlands and oleanders.
