Manuel Benítez "El Cordobés" is one of the most revolutionary and popular bullfighters in the history of bullfighting. From a humble family, he began to work in the fields before approaching the bullfighting world. He made his debut as a novillero in 1959 and received his matador's alternative in 1964, quickly standing out for his unique and spontaneous style.

El Cordobés broke with tradition, introducing a more risky and unorthodox bullfighting style, which made him a media phenomenon during the 1960s and 1970s. His charisma and bravery won him the admiration of crowds and made him an icon of bullfighting. Despite the criticism, his connection with the public and his innovative style gave him a special place in bullfighting history.

Throughout his career, El Cordobés was a bullfighter of great popularity and experienced both moments of glory and controversy. Although he retired in the 1980s, his legacy lives on as one of Spain's most important and charismatic bullfighters.
