Juan Miguel Pozo Cruz was born on October 4, 1967 in the town of Banes in the extinct province of Oriente, Cuba. At an early age he moved with his family to the Isle of Pines and later to Havana, where he began his studies at the School of Arts of the University of Havana. In those studies Pozo began to develop his artistic style in painting, with the view of the streets of Havana. Material was scarce and so he published his subjects in postcard size, and offered his paintings for sale at street fairs near the Havana Cathedral.
In 1994 Pozo was discovered by a German journalist. Thanks to this journalist, well-known artists such as Konrad Klapheck became interested in Pozo. As a result, Pozo was invited as a student to the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, where he lived for some time. He has also lived in Wiesbaden, Barcelona and has been living in Berlin since 2003.
He has also collaborated with the now defunct band Böhse Onkelz, for whom he created the cover of the album "Adios" and all the music videos for the songs on this album. Thanks to this he won a Platinum Record because the album sold more than 200,000 copies in Germany. He has also acted as artistic curator for numerous painting exhibitions in Germany.
