Blessing box with carved mother-of-pearl veneered wood core. The piece presents the image of the Virgin as Immaculate on the crescent moon as the main element of the decoration. The realization of this type of religious objects was usual for the decoration of public religious spaces, as well as those of private character, dedicated to personal devotion. Although many of them took very different forms, they all had the same devotional purpose, which sometimes went beyond fanaticism.
