Mirror of baroque period and colonial manufacture, following a frequent model during the Viceroyalty, which consisted of using wood as a structural base, and a coating of thin sheets of silver with decorations (gadroons and borders) embossed and chiseled.

During the 17th century, silver was an abundant resource in the American colonies, particularly in regions such as Peru and Mexico, thanks to the mines of Potosi and Zacatecas. This facilitated the creation of ornamental pieces covered with this material. The mirrors of this period not only had a practical function, but also a symbolic one, representing wealth and social status.
