DESCRIPTION
Curious and rare pocket watch holder. Germany, late 19th-early 20th century.
Gilded bronze and circular glazed ceramic plate.
Measurements: 12 x 12 x 12 cm.
Rare piece for its originality, being a bronze support for pocket watch. It consists of a small tray to keep the watch and a larger lower tray that exhibits a painting of costumbrista theme (a scene of a peasant dance in a tavern) on ceramic. It stands on claw feet and is decorated with ovate, foliate and winged motifs.
