English scrivener's box. Victorian period, 19th century.
Walnut wood and marquetry.
It has marks of use and wear. The key is missing.
Measurements: 19 x 50 x 25 cm (closed).
British portable or travel desk, Victorian period. Made of walnut wood, when closed it compacts in the shape of a rectangular box, with the profiles reinforced with silver plated metal pieces. When opened, its interior reverts to a writing desk with a space for inkwell and pens, and a slanted envelope lined with a leather mat. It has drawers and interior secrets.
