During the XVIII and XIX century the social meetings in public acts were the appropriate context for the ladies to show their new fashion acquisitions, of which the fans were the perfect complement. These became very important not only because of their usefulness, but also because the ladies developed a whole language around the use and arrangement of the fan. The country presents wide landscapes and gallant and romantic scenes of eighteenth-century inspiration contained in mixtilinear pavilions.
