DESCRIPTION

Presents xylophagous damage and restorations.
Measurements: 93 x 78 x 17 cm (exterior); 59 x 42 cm (interior).
Pair of frames of baroque period and Italian invoice, worked with fine gilded carving alternating with ebonized parts. Vegetable ornaments based on thick acanthus leaves, fruits and fleshy spires protrude in high relief in the center of each of the sides. The frames, of rectangular format, consist of an inner perimeter finely carved with foliated fretwork and ovals, followed by a center of black polychrome wood and an outer molding covered with rocaille motifs. Characteristic of the baroque style is the profusion of ornamentation, but subjected to an underlying order in which symmetry prevails.
