Sculpture-lamps of great size, in patinated bronze, with marble base, piece of the XIX century, of the French sculptor Huzel et fils (1850-1890), crowned by red lampshades in the form of burning flames that finish the beauty of the sculpture, the sculpture is composed of a couple of Greek gods. It is in perfect state of preservation.
Bronze sculptures in the 19th century occupied a central place in artistic production, standing out as a symbol of prestige, commemoration and aesthetic renovation. This period, marked by the ideals of Neoclassicism and later by Romanticism and Realism, consolidated the use of bronze as the material of choice for public monuments and commemorative works due to its durability and capacity to capture expressive details. The technique of bronze casting allowed artists to accurately capture the human anatomy, emotionality and dynamics of the compositions, favoring the exaltation of heroic, political and mythological figures. In addition, the rise of nationalism and the need to build a collective identity made bronze sculpture a fundamental vehicle for historical memory, consolidating its social and artistic function in the public space.
