BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Pair of floor lamps. Art Deco, ca. 1930.
Bronze and nickel silver.
Measurements: 177 x 45 x 45 cm.
Majestic Art Deco and period style floor lamps. On a circular base of shiny nickel stands a hardwood shaft of considerable length, which ends with a lampshade also atrompetada nickel plated with stepped neck. Attractive reflections can be seen on its limpid surface. Striated metal rings and blue crystal rings decorate the neck and base. They offer a warm and special ambient lighting. This is a pair of lamps with a sophisticated and genuinely Deco design, reflecting the aesthetics of the 1920s and 1930s. The combination of nickel-plated metals and dark wood (often lacquered) is characteristic of the movement, as is the preference for stepped and pyramidal shapes, symmetrical and stylized motifs.
