Verrerie DES HANOTS
Floor lamp, ca. 1930.
Wrought iron and glass.
Measurements: 175 x 44 x 44 cm.
Floor lamp in Art Deco style and period by Verrerie des Hanots. The wrought iron shaft rises from a triangular base, and synthetic and contrasting shapes (chains of eggs, grooves ...) are combined in contrasting games. It ends with a frosted and cut glass lampshade with synthesized foliate motifs.
La Verrerie des Hanots was a leading French manufacture of art glass active during the Art Deco period, approximately between 1925 and 1946. Located in Les Andelys, France, the company partnered with the Holophane company and created the Verlys brand, whose name derives from "Verrerie des Andelys." This artistic production encompassed a wide range of pieces, including lamps, vases, goblets and other decorative objects made of molded and pressed glass. Des Hanots' creations are characterized by geometric designs and natural motifs, representative of the Art Deco style of the time.
