Pair of gilded bronze candlesticks with stems as scrolls, decorated with ovals and gadroons in cups and acanthus on the crown of the shaft. The candelabra are elevated at the base by legs in the form of braces under which rests a quatrefoil plinth.

We can understand the Louis Philippe as an eclectic period of transition from the heavy and sumptuous forms of the Empire to the historicism and industrialization of Napoleon III. Still with an artistic will and good taste towards beautiful ornamentation, whose purpose was to make the rooms of the growing bourgeoisie more comfortable, there is a concern for aesthetics, fine finishes, monumentality and brilliant gilding, a set that makes this pair of chandeliers is an exceptional work.
