Catalan modernist fireplace, whose design shows the influence of Gaudí, both in the use of the trencadís technique for ceramic decoration and in the way of solving the columns. The rectangular body of the chimney, architecturally inspired but highly organic, is made of ochre-colored artificial stone with white marbling. Two columns flank the front part and their starts and ends dispense with capitals and bases in favor of stone delicuescences characteristic of Mediterranean modernism. The central opening is bordered by a ceramic mosaic work made with irregular tesserae (trencadís) in glaucous blue and mauve tones representing floral groups of large petals and sensual stems that undulate in sinuous coups-de-fuet. The base and top repeat the same succession of moldings at different levels, and in both profiles the straight line is avoided. In short, a genuinely modernist fireplace.
