Bureu type canterano made in wood, in a style of transition between rococo and neoclassicism, still predominating the first one. It consists of a closed body with three registers, the three lower ones with drawers. The upper body is closed with a tilted hinged lid, and houses a sample of a desk with five straight front drawers and several more spaces as part of the structure. On the exterior, the piece of furniture is decorated with marquetry forming recesses. The Charles IV style was developed during the golden age of furniture, which refers to the period between 1725 and 1835. During this period, furniture craftsmanship reached a great splendor, as the design of each piece, its manufacturing techniques, sumptuousness and variety of materials used coincided at the highest point of quality. The characteristics of the Carlos IV style are distinguished by the use of symmetry and aversion to curves, a fine and classicist ornamentation, with geometric marquetry, usually with floral compositions in the center. Applications of bronzes with bronze bezels with bows and galleries on tables, chests of drawers and bureaus. Gilded and painted furniture in light colors, decorated with canes and grooves. Spanish furniture in the Charles IV style replicated French furniture, inspired by designs by Gasparini and Ventura Rodriguez. In Catalonia and Mallorca, however, there was a furniture craftsmanship whose interest lay in a greater independence from the French canons and a greater influence of the Italians.
