Pair of Louis XIV style and period armchairs. The design follows the forms and proportions of the French full baroque. With a high and open structure, in walnut wood, and with the seat and back upholstered in petit point. Characteristic elements of this style are the high, slightly sloping backrest, as well as the profusely turned and moulded legs and chamfers. The four legs are connected by H-shaped crosspieces, which are also carved with embossed highlights. The only part where the wood remains smooth is on the armrests, which are finished in a scroll. The petit point upholstery reproduces a medallion on the backrest with two figures inspired by the Commedia dell'Arte wearing masks. Behind them, a line of houses is drawn. The rest of the upholstery is based on borders and plant motifs.
