BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Pair of Louis XVI style armchairs. France, last third of the nineteenth century.
Carved and gilded wood. Aubusson upholstery.
Measurements: 104 x 68 x 63 cm.
Pair of armchairs with carved and gilded wood structure, Louis XVI style. This is a pair of armchairs characterized by lightness and classic architectural details typical of French court furniture of the second half of the eighteenth century. Thus, we see column-shaped legs, narrower towards the base, molded profiles, balanced lines and outstanding assembly dies. In this case it is worth mentioning the upholstery of both pieces, which follows the aesthetic patterns of the Aubusson style, in ocher and pink tones with a floral decoration combined with scrolls and vegetal elements, as well as figurative scenes in this case.
