Mario Kempes, born in 1954 in Argentina, is one of the great legends of Argentine soccer. He was the top scorer and key figure of the national team that won the 1978 World Cup, as well as being voted the best player of the tournament. At club level, he shone at Valencia CF, where he won two Pichichi Trophies and left a historical mark.
He is considered one of the best Argentine soccer players of all time, alongside figures such as Di Stéfano, Maradona and Messi. After his retirement, he dedicated himself to sports journalism as a commentator for ESPN and has been a narrator for FIFA video games since 2012.
