Documentary photographic album from the end of the 19th century that collects in images the activity of the Sierra Menera Mining Company, focused on its mining facilities in Ojos Negros, the railway line that connected with Sagunto and the mineral loaders in its industrial port. The work is part of the current of technical and industrial photography that proliferated during the Second Industrial Revolution, showing not only the architecture and machinery associated with the extraction and transport of iron ore, but also the landscape modified by mining activity. The photographs, possibly in albumen or collotype, are mounted on cardboard and reflect a remarkable interest in documenting the infrastructural development and technological progress of the time. Due to its content, this book can be related to other publications dedicated to industrial heritage such as Arqueología industrial en Sagunto or El barrio minero de Sierra Menera, being a unique and valuable primary source for the study of Spanish railway and mining heritage.
