DESCRIPTION

La explotación del éxito colombino, 1992.
Editorial Testimonio.
Limited facsimile edition with book study with introduction by historian Demetrio Ramos, copy 522/980.
Notarial certificate enclosed.
With gray velvet slipcase.
Measurements: 23.50 x 33 cm (slipcase).

Facsimile edition published in 1992 by Testimonio publishing house as part of its "Tabula Americae" collection, which brings together a set of fundamental documents for the study of the policy of the Hispanic Monarchy in relation to the discovery and organization of the New World. This work offers a faithful reproduction of letters, royal decrees, ordinances, capitulations, entries and minutes of appearance that reflect the administrative, legal and strategic action of the Spanish Crown during the first moments of overseas expansion.

The documents reproduced come from the main historical archives of the Spanish State, specifically from the Archivo General de Simancas, the Archivo General de Indias and the Archivo de Protocolos de Sevilla. All the texts have been arranged and presented in an archival notebook format, contained in a gray velvet-covered case, which preserves the official and solemn character of the set of documents.

The facsimile is accompanied by a 308-page study volume by historian Demetrio Ramos, professor and expert in American history, who provides the historical, diplomatic and political context necessary for the correct interpretation of the documents.

The edition was produced in a limited edition, numbered and notarized, which makes it a reference work for researchers, archivists and bibliophiles interested in the documentary genesis of the Spanish colonization process in America.
