Edition of the Libro Copiador de Cristóbal Colón, unpublished correspondence with the Catholic Monarchs about the voyages to America, whose original is preserved in the Archivo de Indias. It consists of a facsimile edition, in folio and bound in full leather, and two volumes by Antonio Rumeu de Armas, member of the Royal Academy of History. Volume I comprises the historical-critical study and the edition, and volume II the transcription.
It is an edition made on the occasion of the V Centenary of the Discovery of America, certified before a notary. The copy we present here is number 654, hand numbered, of the Spanish edition, limited to 980 copies, which has been co-published by the Ministry of Culture, Quinto Centenario and Testimonio Compañía Editorial. This edition includes 42 copies numbered in Roman numerals and in red ink, for delivery to the 21 Latin American countries, as well as 75 non-venial copies, destined for collaborators, legal deposit and official procedures.
