Anaklet Reiffenstuel was an expert in canon law. He belonged to the Franciscan order and was elected definitor of his province. He taught philosophy in Freising, Landshut and Munich, and canon law in Freising. His works on moral theology and canon law gave him the first place among the canonists of his time, and have gone through numerous editions, with additions by other authors.
