Manuel Silvestre studied at the University of Alcalá de Henares, where he was approved as a lawyer in 1756. In 1758 he was named by the King, judge of residence of several offices of Huesca, in addition during this time he was lawyer of the house of the Duke of Osuna. Later he was named prosecutor of the Crime of the Audiencia de Santafé and in 1780 he traveled to Nueva Granada to exercise the position. In 1783 he moved to Guadalajara, Mexico.
