DESCRIPTION
Pendant in 18K yellow gold in the shape of an eagle with enamel and coral. Egyptian inspiration, possible to represent Horus.
Pendant in 18K yellow gold, beautifully worked in the shape of an eagle with spread wings, a design that evokes the iconography of the Egyptian god Horus, symbol of protection, power and royalty in Ancient Egypt.
The piece is decorated with polychrome enamels in blue, white and burgundy tones, highlighting the details of the plumage and giving it a dynamism typical of Egyptian art. At the top, the eagle holds a natural coral cabochon, which could refer to the solar disk, an element linked to Ra and Horus in his divine aspect. Two other corals adorn the eagle's talons, creating a chromatic balance with the enamel.
The bail is wide, allowing it to be easily adapted to different types of chains or necklaces.
Weight: 20 g.
Measurements: 47 x 33 mm (without the bail).
This pendant recalls the representations of the Falcon of Horus, a protective deity of the pharaoh and symbol of heaven and victory. Its spread wings design is characteristic of Egyptian amulets used to confer protection and power to its wearer. In addition, the combination of enamel and coral in yellow gold resembles the Egyptian royal pectorals of the New Empire (ca. 1550-1070 B.C.), when jewelry reached its highest refinement.
