BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

Spanish guitar; first half of the 20th century.
Wood.
No strings.
It presents important faults and breakage in the case.
Measurements: 96 x 31 x 7 cm.
The development of the first "guitar" is lost in the history of medieval Spain and it was not until 1850 when the shape and structure of the modern guitar were developed by different Spanish guitar makers such as Manuel de Soto y Solares and, perhaps the most important of all guitar makers, Antonio Torres Jurado, who increased the size of the body of the guitar, altered its proportions and invented the innovative fan pattern. The classical Spanish guitar is usually played as a solo instrument using an integral finger plucking technique in which each string is plucked individually by the player's fingers, rather than strummed.

COMMENTS

It presents important faults and tears in the box.
