Eduard Olivella was a photographer and theorist of photography whose work has left a significant mark on Spanish documentary photography. With a degree in Art History from the University of Barcelona, he began his photographic career in 1968 linked to the International Center of Photography of Barcelona (CIFB).
Since then, his career has combined photographic practice with teaching and criticism, articulating a visual discourse influenced by pure photography and the principles of the German school of the 1930s. His work is distinguished by a meticulous exploration of space and architecture, elements that transcend the merely aesthetic to become witnesses of the interaction between people and their environment.
