Pancho Quilici is a Venezuelan plastic artist, known for his work with geometric and abandoned landscapes as recurring themes that frequently present impossible architectures, with symbolic and fantastic influences. His work has been described as influenced by Giambattista Piranesi and his father the architect Antonio Quilici. In 1978 he graduated from the Neumann Institute of Design and began studying at the Graphic Learning Center (CEGRA). Since 1977 he has participated in group exhibitions and salons, where he received awards as early as 1978, including the International Exhibition of Contemporary and Modern Art in Chicago, as well as the International Contemporary Art Fair in Paris. Quilici works as a designer for the University of Caracas, producing materials for its communications and creating the university's logo, while participating in various young artists' fairs. He wins several prizes: second prize for drawing at the Salón Dibujo nuevo en Venezuela, Fundarte, Caracas, and the following year second prize for engraving Diaro El Carabobeno at the Salón Michelena in Valencia. In 1979 he held his first solo exhibition of drawings at the Minotauro gallery, which continues to be linked to his work and exhibits it regularly both in Venezuela and the United States, and a year later he moved to Paris.
