"Maternity".

Paillet studied sculpture with Georges Gardet. His first exhibition took place at the Salon of 1897 and he exhibited regularly until 1921. Most of his works were cast at the Thiebault Freres foundry, both in lost wax and in sand. Some of his works also bear the mark of the F. Barbedienne foundry. Charles Paillet, Georges Gardet, René Paris, as well as others, form the second generation of Animalier sculptors and exhibited their works between the great period of animal bronzes and the art deco period that was to replace the naturalistic Animalier style.
