OCTAVIO VICENT CORTINA, (Valencia, 1913 - 1999).

Sculptor, imagery and fallero artist, Octavio Vicent was formed in the School of San Fernando of Madrid, where he obtained a scholarship to extend his studies in the School of Fine Arts of Florence. In 1945 he obtained a third medal at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, and in 1947 he obtained a professorship at the Royal Academy of San Carlos. The following year he obtained a second medal at the National Exhibition, and in 1957 he won first prize at the Mediterranean Sculpture Exhibition in Alicante. In 1958 he received the National Sculpture Prize, and the following year the Guadalquivir of Seville.
