BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

DIEDERIK VAN APPLE (Leiden, The Netherlands, 1985).
"Bugs Bunny".
Resin and chrome, copy 18/40.
Signed and numbered.
Measurements: 55 x 28 x 15 cm.

Sympathetic sculptural work that combines the iconic design of the legendary Bugs Bunny as a boxer with refined craftsmanship. It carries the monogram of Hermes on the gloves.

Diederik van Apple was born and raised in Leiden, The Netherlands. In his childhood he was addicted to all Tin Tin comics, Walt Disney, Marvel books and legendary movies like The Godfather, Scarface, Pulp Fiction and James Bond. He loved to watch, read and get right into the stories, as if he were part of the artwork himself. Van Apple's art is a combination of digital techniques such as photography and famous features. The base of the art is foil or gold foil, to which he adds holograms, colors, glitter, diamonds and other handcrafted elements. All works are finished by hand with several layers of epoxy. By adding these layers he manages to create innovative and unique multimedia art with a fantastic 3D effect.
