The sculptor Alfonso Pérez Plaza began his training at the age of twelve at the School of Arts and Crafts of Valencia, and later entered the School of Fine Arts of San Carlos (1953), where he obtained in 1957 the title of Professor of Drawing and graduated in 1981. He later received his doctorate in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (1989). He also extended his studies for six years in the German city of Stuttgart, and later in Paris and Rome. Since his solo debut in 1967, Pérez Plaza held solo exhibitions in several cities in Spain and Mexico, as well as in Bopfingen (Germany) and New York. He also participated in important group exhibitions held in different European countries and in the United States. Between 1990 and 2007 he taught at the Fine Arts Faculty of the UPV. He is currently represented in the Museum of Villafamés, the Municipal History Museum and the Museum of the City of Valencia, the Museum of Ibiza, the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid and in other public and private collections in Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany and the United States.
