This mermaid sculpture comes from the base of a coffee table that had the glass top in order to enhance the beauty of the support. The effigy is made of bronze, with a patinated torso in which the softness of its turgid forms is highlighted. The scaly tail, in contrast, has a green patina. The body arches gracefully over a pedestal that simulates the swaying of the waves, capturing the sensation of fluidity. The gaze rises, charged with melancholy, and conveys an ethereal beauty. The hair flutters, clustered in clumps, swaying in the sea breeze.
