Dish made in bronze with a design in relief featuring a large bird sitting on a branch.
Alfred Egide Crick was a Belgian sculptor born in 1858 in Antwerp. He studied with Eugene Simonis and Leon Jacquets at the Brussels Academy, but spent little time there before being apprenticed to Charles van der Stappen. Crick created several notable works, including a monument to Jan van Beer in the Antwerp city park, a monument to Jenneval in Martyrs' Square, and the "Vulture with Goat" group in the Brussels Botanical Garden. He also made numerous busts, statuettes, groups and medallions.
