This terracotta sculpture from the XVI century, of Tuscan origin, represents a human figure with a leaning posture and serene expression. The work shows a detailed modeling, especially in the folds of the clothing and facial expression, typical characteristics of Mannerism, an artistic style that developed in Italy in the 16th century as an evolution of the Renaissance.
The importance of this sculpture lies in its expressive representation and its function within the religious or theatrical art of the time.
