Vase; Following the models of LA ALHAMBRA; second half of the nineteenth century.

Measurements: 175 x 78 x 76 cm.
Large vase made of nielloed metal with geometric motifs as part of its ornamentation. The piece follows the patterns of the famous Vase of the Gazelles, made in the second half of the 14th century, under the sultanate of Muhammad V, in the period of plenitude of the Nasrid art, exponents of the summit reached in the medieval ceramics, demonstrating the skill of the Nasrid potters. It has a very narrow base, with a very stylized globular body and gallonados. Decoratively it has a complete and varied repertoire of geometric and stylized vegetal motifs.
From the stylistic point of view, the vases of the Alhambra reflect the synthesis between the Eastern Islamic tradition and the local innovations developed in al-Andalus. Their decorative technique, based on the use of metallic luster and dry rope, influenced Mudejar ceramics and later Valencian production, which incorporated elements of this aesthetic in its ornamental repertoire.
In addition, their function and symbolism transcended the utilitarian sphere, as these vases were probably objects of prestige in the Nasrid court, associated with ostentation and palatial luxury. Their stylistic legacy endured in Hispano-Moorish ceramics and in other manifestations of Islamic art, consolidating their importance within the medieval artistic heritage.
